lacquers? what kind of paint? And I think a hobbyshop will have what you need...

its a metallic kinda lacquer. My only problem is age they keep askin me for id.

I used to be carded too for paint. Now my local auto paint supplier knows who I am and that my paint is for a biz, few carding. Its a legal issue because a few kids abused paint.

it's called chroming, they sniff the paint and get high on fumes (and melt their brain)

And about the model, paint it flat black, with some red or yellow gloss tribal flames.
