System Questions

I actually have two questions. I am debating between the purchase of either the Pioneer DEH-P8600MP or the Alpine CDA-9831, after the good reviews they both seem to recieve. I am also trying to decide which would be best for use with my stock speakers and the JL Audio 10w6 sub I plan to buy. Which unit would you choose and what amp do you think I ought to use with the sub? (probably somthing around 250/1?)

I'm partial to Alpine head units. I don't think I have ever mated a large sub to work with factory mids/tweets. Seems like it would overpower them.

I would get a 4 ch amp and hook it up to the stock speakers. Im sure you can get a good one for cheap with a nice high pass crossover on it so you can make them keep up with the w6. That would probably be cheaper than replacing them all with high quality speakers. If you want a great highs amp for cheap, look for a Jensen JXP680. Thats my recommendation. I had one because I bought all my stereo stuff off my sears card when I first got it, lol, I didnt really wanna get jensen but it was my best option.. well, I was very impressed, and so were a bunch of people. It played beautiful highs, had a great crossover, and great level controls, and almost inexistant noise at top volume. Im actually trying to get another one because I sold mine when I moved... If I could find one brand new I would buy it in a heartbeat.

its a hard decision, i hear such great things about alpine. but i hear good things about pioneer as well, and in this instance, the alpine is a prettier unit. i think the organic screen would be quite fun to have. still deciding though
