Clutch (pedal) problems

I have a 94 EX w/ a 5 speed.

I haven't had any problems with it until Sunday. Saturday it was fine (it was raining the time I arrived home). Sunday we had a big snowstorm and temps about 5 degrees. I went to move the car so I could shovel the drive ( after I pried the door open) I realized the clutch was on the floor. I could start it but couldn't get it into gear. I thought it could have been because of the rain and the the really cold temps. but today it got up to 40 and I ran the engine for about 45 mins thinking if something was frozen it should lossen up, but no luck. The clutch pedal still sticks to the floor. From searching this site I know this is a hydraulic connection. But really not sure where to start looking for a problem.

ANy ideas?

Thanks

Wait...it is stuck to the floor, or you can lift it, but it just falls back down...if it is the 2nd, and you have no pressure, then you got a leak in your hydraulic system...check master and slave cylinders.

I can lift it back up and it will stay up. There is spring that keeps the pedal up, but there doesn't seem to be any resistance when I push the pedal back down.

I will check the master and slave cylinders though.

there may have been enough moisture in your lines to freeze and burst when it got really cold out that night.

Well considering you didnt post whether or not you got this fixed imma assume ya didnt. This happened to my car, and at first it was the master cylander, i had a leak riiiight where the master cylander goes through the firewall. Then about a year later my slave cylander went, i cannot really remember the symptoms when that happend, buuut it was obvious that was the problem b/c the rubber around it was ripped and leaking fluid everywhere. I'm sure you ahve fixed it by now, buuut in case ya didnt or if somebody else has this problem its good to know. =)
