-In Progress: Aoshima Junction Produce Aristo- *Warning 56K*

Hey All..I'm currently workin on a Junction Produce Aristo AKA Lexus GS. This kit will be built OOB as I suck at making things :cwm27: I just got the kit from NissanS15Racer a couple days ago and got a little bit of progress done. So far all I did was get some of the things in the first 2 steps painted. I'm waiting to get some more primer and paint so I can continue it(I ran out of black paint for the chassis.) This is my first Aoshima kit and I got pretty confused when I opened the box and saw that all the instructions were in japanese :eek7: But all I really need was the paints so I went online and searched AF and thank god someone posted a link to a chart with english translation. :smile: Hopefully I wont mess up.. :uhoh:

Color Plans: I want to paint this kit Mica Red and have the main part of the rim gold with a chrome lip, using the wheels that came with the kit.

I love this kit, it was a pure joy to put together. If i remember rightly, the only problem was that the headlight lenses are way too big, need shaving a touch.

Thanx all! I'm still waiting on primer and paint, but Im short on money so Im hoping my bro will buy some for his Evo VIII model he just got to replicate his 1:1 and I'll just use some of that..heh

I did a little work to the side skirts. I test fitted them and noticed they were longer then the front and rear bumper and I dont like that look so I sanded about 2mm of it and now it fits like I want it.

Also does anyone kno wats a good and easy way to clean out the craks between the door jams, bumpers, ect.. so the paint wont get stuck in there and clog it up?


BTW..nice aristo Mike! I noticed you didnt put the skirts on..did u have the same problem?

That is a nice kit, I'm currently working on the Fabulous Aristo by Aoshima, only thing I like about it better is the wheels that come in the Fabulous kit, they are the Profounds, really nice. I'm having trouble with the wheels in the back trying to get them under the body, and don't know how to go about it.

great kit to work on bro! i love the gs's. To get the crud in the cracks try using a card or sumthin and scrape in there.

Cool, your bro got an EVO 8? Sweet! Didn't he have an accord?

For the panel lines i use an xacto knife to scribe them to make them deeper so when im done painting it will still be quite visible.

Nice start. If you use primer, I don't think the paint will build up in the cracks. The paint should cover evenly. You can check out my 2. They are in this thread, on page 2, and on page 3. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=134026&page=2&pp=15

Finally some progress..I finished the paint on the chassis and the front suspension is finished. Also I primed the interior but I dont know when ill be able to get the paint for it yet because I spent my paint money on the Tamiya Gray Primer and Mica Red.

Sorry I havent updated in a while but i got the chassis fully completed...Aoshima did a terrible job on this kit, nothin fits right and this whole chassis was a bitch to do. The rear wheels arent fitting on at the moment cuz the fitment is really bad on the rear rotors and theres not enough space. Ill figure somethin out tho.. :sly:

the same thing happned to me on my vip toyota celsior by aoshima with the reaar suspension i couldn't find out how to fix it so i just raised the back of the car a littlebit and so now the back wheels stick out pretty far but its not to bad

Well for any of you who do care I got a bit more progress done..It was the warmest day we had in like 2+ months yestrday so I took advantage of it and laid the first mist coat of primer down and then the first "wet" coat. After the primer dried I wetsanded it with 1000 grit, scraped the excess paint out of the door jams and now its ready for another coat of primer. I also painted the window frames but I dont have any pix of those yet..

I dont know why they have those colors mixed in with it..I think that imageshack reduced the quality slightly..

thanx :) I got the ride height fixed now but the wheels still pop out a lil but its not that noticeable..
