cold rev limiter

ok i was talking to a guy last night about my setup
i have a jdm d15b with a 88 si ecu, my rev limiter always hits at 6500, he was saying that it should go close to 7400, well he was telling me that this was because of the ecus cold revlimiter, said i should check the CTS and the wire to the ecu and make sure everything was working properly. said the ecu is thinkin its cold so the rev limiter hits at 6500, that if i fixed it it would go to 7400 warm revlimit. how much truth is there to this? im on a obd0 setup. this came from a guy that chips ecus for a living, so i think he has some creditablity, i just never heard anything like that before. thanks

well it does seem odd that it blips out at 6500. On my 89 si and 90 si they both reved past 6500 without a problem, but i never smacked the rev limit in either.

I think hes talking out his ass. Isnt 6500 the stock redline on a pm6? Just cuz you have a different motor in doesnt mean the redline goes up. your redline is wherever your ecu's redline is set.

i know just cause its a diffrent motor it doesnt go up, im not that stupid... but ive talked to alot of people and they have all said there si ecus would go close to 7200... how much about ecus do u actually know. any one else have an idea about this ? thanx

I know my Si ecu went up to 7200. I would get an 88-89 Integra ECU and the rev limiter goes to 7500. Better overall ecu. I used it with my mini-me.

is that a pr4? i think the p28 is the stock ecu for my motor...

When I had my pm6, I just never took it past 6500. I have a pg7 (from 88/89 integra) in my zc hatch right now and its been up to 7400.

i have a pr4 in my zc and it revs to 7500, i had the pm6 and it was going upto 7400, but its pointless to go that high because ur making max power at 6800.

6800 is still higher then 6500 and im going turbo once i put on my kit so longer revs i think would be better

my pm6 does 7200 for my ZC
