Ok. 97 villager 3.0, driving, car smells of oil, then dies. Open the hood and theres oils sprayed all over the manifold and on the valve cover. Add a quart and get it home. when it cooled down I added yet another quart and started it. I dont see any oil spraying, but once it warmed up i get a whistling noise and slight rattle. I am going to replace the valve cover gasket to see if maybe the seal broke, but is there something else it could be??
thanks

does your oil look milky or any dark color exhaust?

The van runs fine now. The valve cover was loose and blew the gasket out. New gasket, all better.
Thank goodness.
