I'm thinking about a kenne bell 9psi kit on my stock 02 GT mustang 5spd..what else would I have to do to keep this car a reliable daily driver?

Nothing just install the kit correctly per directions and don't drive like you stole it all the time.... Kenne Bell packages there S/C in complete everything you need to drive and live comfortably package.
PS: Spring the extra $$ for the 11psi liquid aftercooler set-up so you can push 11psi at the track. :evillol:

bingo are u getting the 2.2l or the 2.4l blower by kennebell? the intercooler is a great idea it opens up more pontential for u in the furture.

I don't mean to butt in, but how is the Paxton NOVI-1000 supercharger is it worth the $2000?

Well, I can only afford the 9psi kit without the intercooler...gotta pay for installation! And so my rear end and tranny wont be destroyed by all that brand new hp and torque?!

How much is the kit...I really want to do boost more then just basic bolt on after basic bolt on, but It would take alot of saving...
NM saw the price list, out of my leagues...

It's like...$3700. :)

Nah, install it yourself! I just helped out with a bullitt intake install, and it was way easier than I expected. I've also done a Kenne Bell on a 5.0, so it shouldn't be that hard.

hey, by installing a 9psi SC and driving around like a granny, how much do you guys think Mileage would suffer?

none its controled by thorttle postion so if u dont floor it ur good. some people have told me that milage will go up if u dont drive hard at all (yeah thats not easy if u got a sc to tempting) bc the engine becomes more effiecent with the supercharger but i dont know if that is true.

I don't have a garage or I would be doing the install myself.

1.7 and 2.2L blowers are offered for 2V cars. 2.2 and 2.4 are offered as upgrades for the cobras.

That's a turbo that's controlled by throttle input. Less throttle=less heat in the exhaust=less boost. Superchargers are spooled by engine RPM spinning the pulley.

If this were true the motor would be IDLING under boost. The KB's have an internal bypass valve so when the throttle is partially open it just bypasses any pressurized air from entering the system, so that the blower takes very little power to drive and is not just blasting hot air into the motor.

Basically you just backed up my point, boosted! If the bypass wasn't there, it WOULD be making boost at idle...
I wasn't trying to get too complicated with it, but a turbo is more throttle-input reliant than a supercharger.
I haven't worked a lot with blown apps, just turbo'd.

yeah but what i mean is. you can be at 3500 rpms in 2ed gear just driving and its not using as much fuel as being at 2000 rpms floored the computer controls how much fuel is injected into the engine so i mean yeah the supercharger builds boost with the crank. BUt on the other hand at i think 2500 or 3000 (from memory) the kennebell is a twin screw design so it has close to maxium boost at 3000 all the way up to 6500 or what ever. Thats its advantage over a centifurge supercharger that it produces max tourqe at a lower rpm while a centifurge builds boost on its way up.(the kennebell does to but its like 1 lb from 3000 to 6500) So i am trying to say that u will not lose gas milage if u dont put ur foot down bc the ecu isnt telling the injectors to inject more fuel.

whoa now, kinda straying off the subject...it's cool though...but i'd still like for someone to answer how well my rearend/tranny will fair with all that new hp/torque. and to whoever asked, I live in Baltimore, MD.

Actually my understanding is the following:
The PCM will always want to keep an Air/Fuel ratio of 14.64:1 provided it is in closed loop. Therefore if you are creating an artificial increase in atmospheric pressure (via a SC or a Turbo) the engine's max Load will increase, so the computer will compensate by adding extra fuel (to maintain the 14.64:1 ratio), so basically anytime you cram more air into the Engine, you will by default dumping more Fuel into it, unless somehow calibrated to run leaner (via a chip or calibrated MAF Sensor)

yeah that makes sense but doesnt it have a bypass valve to keep the boost out unless needed?

i forgot did ford change the tranny in the new stang well 99 and up bc if u have the same tranny i do t 45 i think no its gonna breck it barly can handle the stock tourqe

How dependable is the T-45, at what hp range should you be looking to swap? Or will it hold out?

That's pretty much what I'm trying to find out about the TR-3650...how much hp/torque I'm good for. Not to mention the rearend. I'm hoping our 8.8s are better than those damn GM 10 bolts.
