Salvaged Title Inspection

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :icon16: I just wanted to vent a little bit on this stupid rule the Ohio State Patrol is making such a big deal out of. In order to get my salvaged title turned into a drivable title I need to have it inspected by them. First I must go to the BMV and get a receipt for the insptection ($55.00) no biggie. In order to pass inspection I have to have a receipt for all major component parts replaced, in my case it's just the driver side fender. If the part is brand new (which it isn't) all I need is a receipt for the fender from wherever it came from. Since the fender I got was used I have to have the VIN number from the car the fender came off of. ???? well that sucks because I have no idea where this fender came from. It had been sitting around my buddies shop for about a year or two. So now I can't use this free fender, I have to buy a new one....This threed was pointless but I was just venting...if there is any sympathy out there just holla back.

Dunno my beater has a salvage due to a breakin (screwdriver under the door handle) and a stolen stereo. Insurance didnt want to repaint the whole car due to the paint fade that would have never mached anyother part of the car.
Doesnt take that much if the car is old and beat.

yeah it doesnt take much to total a car. tell the guy you made the fender out of bubble gum. I can print you up a receipt and say I did it at my shop, but they might question why you drove to texas to have a fender replaced.

..those are pretty much the rules in any state...annoying, but they want to be sure stolen parts aren't bein gused.

well you see I claimed the body damage and motor damage and transmission damage just so I could get my car totaled. Nothing wrong with the car really, I drove it home from the accident and it was about an hour and 45 minutes away from my house. I just wanted the car paid off and it got paid off....so if I just replace my fender it looks like new and drives fine...(i cheated the insurance company out of 3500 bucks that's all.)

why dont u buy a fender new cash, than photo copy the bill, than just return it and use your used fender, and just give them the photo copy?

Well for one they won't take photocopies, they have to be originals, and two, they weren't going to take my baby away from me, I had just paid for my swap and only had it for a month and they said they were going to total it and take it...so I got my lawyer involved and we worked it out so they would total it and I could keep it.

Cheaters don't belong on AF. That's why my very basic insurance with all the discounts that I get, I still pay $95/month. Stop cheating the insurance company.

Just like nobody out there has ever gone to the doctor for something they didn't have just for the meds. I'm sure everybody out there is guilty of such crimes.

:evillol: That's sad. collission coverage isn't THAT much. Hell my insurance is only 195 bucks a month with 3 cars.

Thats not even the same catagory, what are you trying to prove?
EDIT: Speeding is not taking advantage of someone and stealing their money. The speed limit is a recomendation, and is only there for the safety of everyone. By speeding you aren't stealing anything from anyone, and you certainly aren't taking advantage of anyone.

This is what happened:
After my accident (which didn't do much damage to my vehicle at all) I got a quote from a respected body shop in my area. The total bill came out to be like $2,700 for a car that's only worth $1,900. The program the guy was using at the body shop kept telling him that the car was a total loss. Go figure since total loss damage is 70% of the car's value. The insurance company I was fighting didn't want to total my vehicle, instead they wanted to give me $1,700 and the used parts to fix the car. Since I owed more than that on the car itself with my new motor and all I could not accept that offer as it would leave me in the hole a great deal. So I took it to a mechanic shop and they said my motor was sitting the the bay crooked and that my transmission may need rebuilt. The insurance company said I would have to have the transmission taken apart for them to look at to see if the damage was caused from the accident. No problem, but they wanted me to pay for it...problem. So my insurance company came out and looked at my vehicle and said that it was a total loss. My insurance company contacted the other insurance company and told them they should not have kept twisting my about the car, and that it should have been totaled from the beginning. The other insurance company said ok and totaled the car and gave me $500 bucks on top of that. That is what went down, so technically I didn't cheat anybody, they were trying to cheat me and they got what they deserved.
