My 90 Corolla has an electrical problem. The battery light occasionally comes on and the other day my battery was completely drained. I tried tighting the belt and had a volt test doen othe alternator which showed fine. Is there something I am over looking Could there be a broken wire somewhere? Thanks for the help

By the way I also replaced the battery with a new one and it was the one that was completely drained and caused me to stall on the highway.

Try cleaning the battery terminals and the ground wire too. Also put some grease on the battery post so you won't get that white powder stuff forming again.
If that still doesn't work, change the brushes in the alternator.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. Apparently the alternator is charging, but the charge is not reaching the battery. Would that be the negative cable or the pos. one with the fuse block attached.

Thanks

I had the same problem before, clean ALL THE CABLES.
with a wire brush and pay more attention to the ground cable that's attached to the engine/frame.

Thanks for the help. I replaced the negative cable with and aftermarket version and so far everything seems to be back in shape. Thanks again.
