I have a spending limit of right about $400, since I am getting a hookup from a good guys employee that will take 40-50% off the price, so instead of $400, i would pay about $200.

Now, here is the list i have in mind. I DO want an MP3 player, and I DO want it to fold out like the Alpine CDA 7977, which is my first thing on my mind now. Also, I want sound quality for my $. Can anybody help me choose between these 4 ones I listed below? If you have any other headunit that you would strongly recommend, please list it here.

i would say kenwood all the way. whatever you do, DO NOT get sony. personally i think they're way overrated. i dont know if they make an mp3 receiver(which you should definetly get) but clarion has a sweetass receiver, i dont remember the model but you needed an external amp to run it. but it was very nice. personally im upgrading soon to a new mp3 receiver. right now i have the aiwa mp3 receiver. only reason is, when i got it, it was the only one made and i didnt want to wait for others to come out. im just too damn impacient.

also, you might wanna take a look at the JVC KD-SH99. very nice. its the one im thinkn about getting.

i've had two clarion decks, both were good but didn't last very long. i'm now using an eclipse deck which is nice and is supposed to be a great deck and all...i think i got a lemon, twice. my first eclipse skipped like mad so i had it replaced. now my current eclipse deck skips once in a while and the shop that installed it is now out of business...so i'm basically fucked. i've heard lots of good things about eclipse though, so don't let this tale deter you, just make sure the shop doesn't screw you.

i've heard that panasonic decks are comparable in sound quality to eclipse for a couple $$$ cheaper.
