switch

does anyone know how to hook up the fan switch i bought a 30 amp relay and a 30 amp switch dont even know if thats enough but im not sure what wire to run from the fan to the relay, or do i run the wire from the fan to the switch???? what do i do just take and splice the power wire on the connector and run it off of that????????

Well lets see relay's usually have 4 wires. Batt power in, 12 volt out, switch lead in, and a ground.

yeah i know how to set up the relay what i dont know is if that 30 amp will be enough and more importantly what to connect the 12 volt out to like i said do i just splice into the connector to the fan motor or what

30 amps should be plenty. You can probably splice in the wires for the fan. Do you plan on having just the switch operate the fans or both switched and computer controlled ?

well the only aspect of my computer that controls them is the air conditioner or heat ive replaced everything dealing w/ the cooling fan (relay, motor, temp sensor, etc..) the previous owner has butchered the wiring so at the moment i dont feel like tracking it down although i will but i would like the switch i just got through searching past posts and noticed one sayin i could just use my present relay and splice the orange wire goin to it and run that to the switch, then run a power and ground to the switch...is this true cause if so ill keep the relay i bought for another project im plannin

Connect one end of your fan switch to a 12V source.2. Connect the other end to one end of the relay coil.3. Connect the other end of the relay coil to ground.4. Connect one end of the relay contact to the battery positive.5. Connect the other end of the relay contact to the fan positive.6.
