Open your glove compartment and take out the black felt liner. It should snap out. Once that's out, you'll see a large black box with a white plastic handle on top of it. The white plastic handle is attached to a metal rod, which is then attached to the blend door motor. The motor regulates the temperature coming out of the vents.
Start the car and move the temperature selector from hot to cold. The plastic handle on the blend door should be moving left & right as you change temperature. I'm guessing in your case, it is not. I doubt your blend door motor is bad, seeing as though people were just working very closely to the climate controls and now they don't work.
Until you troubleshoot what is broken, you can disconnect the metal rod from the plastic handle and manually switch between hot & cold from the blend door. Unwind a coat hanger and secure one end in the plastic handle where the metal rod used to be, and brace the other end next to the glove compartment latch. You'll need to do this or else the plastic handle will just flop back onto one side. I can't remember if the loose handle will naturally leave the air 100% hot or 100% cold. Keep working with the coat hanger until you get enough tension so that you can flip the plastic handle back and forth between hot & cold and have it stay in place.
You'll have to cut the coat hanger to the right length to provide enough tension. Use this awesome MSPaint drawing I made as a guide:

How do I know how to do this? Because I had a 92 Eighty-Eight that lost it's temperature selection capabilities after installing a new deck.

Does that diverter operated with a electric motor or is it vacuum,?

Temperature is controlled via an electric motor, while vent operation is vacuum.
