Starting problems.

Ok yesterday i wanted to start my car when it seemed liike it wanted to turn on you can hear it and the lights on the dash (like the srs,oil,etc)were turnin on (like blinking dimly) and the car wouldnt turn on. Untill i gave it gas right when i turned the key. then it would start up. it did this to me twice now and it only does it when the car has een sitting out for a long while like overnight. Is my battery going dead or is it something else?
