Purchased new, V-6 4WD, has had an engine miss when accelerating since new. Have been to 5 Isuzu service shops, one replaced the EGR valve at 3,000 miles, one cleaned the throttle body. Neither helped. Milage should be 18-22 mpg, getting 16-17. Dealerships seem to want to help, but cannot get a handle on it. Anyone have a similar problem, and if so, what was the fix.

Right now you should be getting about 16-20 MPG, thanks to winter gas.

Are you getting a check engine light now? Were you getting one in the past? A real misfire will cause the CEL to *blink* & a code scanner will tell you exactly which cylinder is misfiring. Under what circumstances / conditions does it stumble? Our 2002 will occasionally stumble very slightly when taking off from a COLD startup. It does it once, then that's it. I never persued it 'cause it runs like a top otherwise (29Kmi now) Mileage in the high teens is very typical. The absolute best our '02 can ever get is 18-20mpg, steady hyway driving. Same with the 2003 in our family. For a stumble on every cold take-off, I would suspect a bad intake manifold gasket. Bad IMG's are real common.
