Hinges??

I have a door hinge with enlarged pin holes because the bushings came out of place, and I need to replace it so I can finally get my car painted.

They're $65 a pop at the Fiero Store. Does anyone know the part number so I can try to find it cheaper from another source?

Anyone know if they were used on other vehicles? They surely must have, and I think I read somewhere that it's the same as on some S10 trucks.

Oh yeah, and it's the driver's side upper hinge, as you may have guessed.

Thanks!

i thought you couldnt paint the fieros, since the color is electro-chemically bonded to the body? i figured u just had to replace the body panels with that of another color? thats not really hard to do, since everything is bolted together

Electrochemically bonded or not, they can be painted. It wouldn't be the same as a factory job, but that's the way it is with any vehicle.

I'm not sure how you would electrochemically bond anything to a non conductive surface of an enduroflex panel used on a Fiero. That is it is plastic. Fieros are painted.

Hinges for a Fiero from my "P" catalogue.

The part # STRAP, DR SI UPR HGE RH 20475146
..............................................LH 20475147

You may try www.gmpartsdirect.com the price will be lower (if available) but they'll get you on shipping.
Some version of the S10 hinge should work, but I'm not sure which years.

Check out http://rodneydickman.com/

look under Exterior then doors... I believe he has a pin kit...
Also, check out on www.fieroforum, and post there in the mall, I betcha you can get a hinge for CHEAP there... ;)

As for painting, paining a Fiero is the same as any other car, but I hear it helps of they add some "flexing agent" in when they paint the bumpers...

Thanks for the part #'s!

By the way, the *frame* is anodized (electro-chemically bonded) and then the body mounting holes were drilled at the same time by special equipment. Check out an owner's manual. It's neato.

Now... can I figure out how to replace the "felt" window guides? :)

yeah im reading the owners manual and it looks to me like they are saying the panels are "electrostatically" painted. well anyways...
