Remove Someone Else's Paint from my Bumper?

Some jerk in a white car gave my black '03 Tiburon a good rub on the bumper when they were pulling into or out of a parking space. How can I get that white paint off my bumper?

Thanks!

a brillo pad and lots of water. Do it gently, you just want to take their paint off not yours.

You may want to ask in the Car Detailing (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1070)section also. They have expierence in these types of problems.

use some rain-x and a shammy, and hand buff the hell out of it.... works every time, trust me !

Never have heard the Rain-X trick. But a brillo pad, eek. Anything used to get dried or cooked on grease off my cookware doesn't belong on or near my car! Both good suggestions, however. I'd error on the side of caution and use Meguires fine cut cleanser (maybe medium cut) and buff it out that way. When the paint is removed, lay a really good coat of wax over the bumper to seal it again. I've always had good luck with that route. However, the Rain-X idea will be tried next time I get a scuff.

Good luck!

I've used the brillo pad on my friends pontiac grand am with a plastic bumper. You are not scrubbing hard, very lightly. The purple cleaner stuff in the brillo pad is what takes the paint off. You use lots of water to get the cleaner to get soapy, then lightly wipe the bumper and it should come off. If you don't feel comfortable doing it try the other methods.
