Alright so i am putting in new speakers for my 96 RS. The front ones are like this the little set of 2 wires that runs to the speakesr for the front ones the one with the white stripe was hooked up to the + and for the back speakers the one with the white stripe was hooked up to the - sign is this how they came from the factory or is that how they just are or did mine just get messed up? unless thats how its suppose to be my

i would think the positive would have to be on the positive post and neg. on the neg. post lol but hell what do i know? lol

yea make sure the all the same its called polarity if one is switched they hit at opposite times prolly not a big deal on mids or highs, but i would still want them all hitting at the same time

NOOO you guys didnt understand my question. I was wondering why would they make it this way. Lets say this goes to your speaker a wire with a white stripe on it and a wire thats just black. I was wondering why would they make it like this

back speakers white stripe is - why would they make it like that and not the same for front and back?

sounds like they got messed up, i dont see why they would change with the speaker location.

solid is almost always pos (except for a few domestic's). White stripe is neg. could be the perason you got the car from had diff speakers in, put the other ones back in when they sold it to you.

yeah im gonna have to go w/ the thought that someone put speakers in before you had the car and reversed the rear speakers. You can usually tell by testing the speaker both ways, the correct way will be louder. It's kind of hard to tell with mid/high speakers, but for subwoofers it's easy.
