92 explorer overdrive problems

hello everyone,
Heres the problem, Sometime, not all the time, my tranny gets stuck in second and third gears....the engine reves up and then it shifts though second and third and into fourth like all at once....also every once in awhile the overdrive light starts to blink and I lose power..I have to stop, turn off the vehicle and restart it and its fine. I took it in and the mechanic said the tranny was fine, no metal shaving, ect...I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it..

Could be the valve body starting to go. They are a weak link on Explorers. Also check to make sure your Transmission fluid is full. Good Luck
