Hey all. I was wondering if any of you have expierenced the same problem that i have been for the last 2 years now. While requiring heat during the cold months like it is here now, you get the odd day that is not too bad and do not need full heat so you turn down the temperature. The problem i am having is that the temp will not always turn down and i have to turn the blower completly off 1 or 2 times with the temp on the coldest before it will come off full heat. There has even been a few times that i have had to shut off the truck then restart before it will come off full heat. Of course the easiest time to work with it and try to diagnose it would be the summer , but you don't need heat in the summer and it gets forgotten about till it starts doing it again once the heat is needed again. It really is no big deal , jut a nusance and if it is possibly a simple fix i would not mind freezing my fingers a bit to solve this problem. Any suggestions/opinions or input is apreciated. Thx,
Ken.

It's the accuator on your heater door. Had the same problem. If you go to Chevy and have them look at the schematic of the heater assembly it'll be the part that's listed as #19. It's on the bottom of the heater assembly and it's pretty simple to replace yourself. When the get old the accuator will quit functioning properly and keep the heater flap from opeining and closing properly. Haven't had a problem since I replaced mine.

Just replaced my. It was 5 minutes of work and 65 dollars for the part. When you go to get it GM named it botton temp actuator.
