AFAIK, Clifford makes the best car alarms in the industry, and is consistantly rated #1.

well, i have the clifford 9000 on mine. so yeah. i think it's pretty sweet. i can make it so that ppl can't walk 2 feet next to my car. hahaha. kinda extreme, but that's what clifford can do. and i know they got some cool pager too. it's hella tight. your alarm goes off, it signals your pager. nice huh? hehehe.

Hey whats up? I was about to get the Clifford 7000 installed today, and then i called my friend at Infiniti and he said that the "ignition kill" feature messes with the ECU. Something about draining to much power and he's had G's that have come into the shop that wont even turn on that have Clifford Alarms installed on them. I then Asked the guy at the Alarm place and he said he's installed Cliffords on about 2-3 G20's and nothing has happend. The alarm guy said he doesnt understand how it could mess up the ECU if the brain of the alarm has nothing to do w/ the ECU, it just creates a relay to the ignition, and then shuts off the car! So I dont know what to do?!?! I'm "shittin a pickle!!" ANY Advice?!?! Thanks!

ok, there is one problem with the clifford alarms and infiniti cars. but it's not just clifford. it's viper alarms, code alarms and any other brand that has an ignition kill or autostart feature. ya can't use it. =) why? cuz infiniti had this ingenious chip thing going, where you can't start the car without the master key with the chip....convenient. but there is a way to get around this....but stupid. it's buying an ignition, and wiring up the separate ignition to the alarm, so you can use this feature....but why put a master key where someone can just rip it out of? =) but the clifford alarm works great, just can't use the ignition kill feature. =T oh well.

But doesnt that just defeat the purpose of buying a clifford? If you dont get the ignition kill? I mean it still sounds great but, why spend $400?

na, clifford comes with a bunch other tight features aside from ignition kill, there's other alarms that offer it. code alarm, viper...but clifford has the nice dual sensors. lol, have my boys at bay car do it. shit, i'll show up to do it. hahaha. there's a mountain view location, should be closer than SF. hehehe. if you're interested, let me know.

thats bullshit, theres gotta be a way to wire around the starter or whatnot so you can use the starter kill, but other than that, isnt the 7000 model your speaking of, one of the iq series? thats older anyways
they have a new system called blackjaxs and a bunch of other stuff, just find a clifford shop manual, or call dei, they have a hotline number so you can get wiring diagrams or what not.. clifford was bought by dei not too long back, but from what i hear quality hasnt gone down.. and theres new models out anyways, from my experience with clifford, i havent had huge problems.. but theyre a bitch to wire, if you want something easier, id go with an alpine, but then again, clifford quality is unparalleled.. in all honesty... everything else really does suck (Even alpine... just look at the siren and construction of everything else, except for their old alarms)

btw i have an ancient high end alpine alarm if anyones interested, harnesses still attached, however i dont have the remotes..

oh well.. i guess my advice is to check into the newer series of clifford alarms with blackjax.. or maybe look at a concept 100, they arent really pricey and they come with all the features you need and have two outputs, so you can control the trunk pop with a actuator and maybe other stuff..

Yea I knew that... :cwn27: LOL J/K Alot of people have told me that Clifford is an awesome alarm, my boy has one on his Civic and it works awesome.. Is there like a website where I can see the different alarms to compare them? For the 7000 they were going to charge me 375 installed...
