Sl To Vr4!!!

WHAT up guys, I just recently bought a 3000 gt that has been converted from an sl to a VR4 and runs perfect but the AWD does kill your traction because when Im in second gear it loses traction and the other day I spinned out of control because my brakes wouldnt work at high speeds, so before I upgrade this car would u guys suggest I just get a real VR4??

do you have any photos of the car.... and you say converted to a vr4 does that mean twin turbo and the awd 6 speed?

Its rare to hear anyone call turboing an SL as a VR4 conversion. Second, it takes a hell of a lot of power (or bad road conditions) to pop the tires loose on an AWD. Brakes don't work at high speeds? Sorry, but at this point I have to raise the flag. :bs:

Here's my theory.

The VR'r conversion includes: Turbos+Hardware,Badges. And nothing else.

The reason you went spinning out is proppably A: Youre FWD.
Or if you really are AWD then B: There's no tread on the tires.

Yea dude, I haven't heard of ne one converting their SL to AWD, I'm with yogs on the bs flag, sorry man but this thread is worthless w/o pics...

There are actually a few people who have converted there FWD to AWD. I doubt this is one of them. Its most likely a TT conversion, not a VR4 conversion.

Well the one guy in particular bought a wrecked RT/TT. He already had a NA RT. At first he just converted to AWD. He had to cut the whole rear sub frame assembly and do a lot of welding to make it work. After that he converted to use the AWS. Then he converted to TT. So for a while he was a AWD NA, much like the NA GTO's in Japan.

There are a few more AWD conversions floating around but ot very many.

It's possible to convert FWD 3000GT to AWD 3000GT ..

I think getting a real VR4 is better actually !
