86 Tbird turbo 5 speed tranny, T5?

I got this car at in 88 and ever since I have had it, I have had trouble with the throw out bearing binding on the shaft. I have replaced the shaft once and it helped for a while but soon had the same problem. I heard and have seen a steel shaft with a teflon ring bearing for Mustangs. I also know that some Mustang component parts will work on turbo coups. How can I tell what model or type of tranny I have so that I might order the correct items?
