Battery died, and I replaced it yesterday. After replacing the battery the blazer started. I let it run for about 5 min and shut it down. I tried to start it again 1 hour later, and although it spins over, it will not start. I checked fuses, owners manual, chilton's repair manual, and cannot find the cause. I talked to a local shade-tree mechanic, and he told me that after replacing a battery there is a certain sequence that must be followed in order to re-set the computer to let it start. Does any of this make sense? If so, does anyone know this sequence?

Not really. No real sequence.

The only time you will have an issue is scrambling the passlock system. If that is what happened(doubtful in your case because you ran the car after the battery change) You need the passlock code to program into your radio to restart the car. Is your security light on the gauge cluster flashing?

Ok, call the dealer, give them your vin, they will give you the code that needs to be entered in through your radio and you should be fine.
