Hello,
Only during cold weather, I have a hard time getting the key out of the ignition on my 1990 Honda Accord. I can push it in but it will not turn to remove. I can hear a clicking and after about a minute it finally comes out. Is there solenoid or something connected to the trans lock out and if so, can it be removed?
Thanks,
chas638

I have a 98 accord (6th gen), and I have had this problem. A while back, I got the ignition replaced on a recall because supposedly the key could come out while the car was running. Now, the damn thing can't come out while the car is off sometimes. One thing I have found that works is to turn the car back on, shift it out of Park, back into Park, then turn it off and try to take the key out again. Good job Honda.

you know my 96 civic kind of does that. except its when trying to start it sometimes it gets stuck. u just have to push it different ways.

I've tried everything. Is there a modular that can be disconnected?

Ok i have the 1991 Acura integra 4 dr. yes same problem. the guys at custp, car care said the guy that owned the car beffore me had the same proble. it is the master key sensor. im sure yall have figured out that pulling back on the gear shifter on auto trannys makes the park light come on and u can turn it when the red light comes up. on manuals im unsure. but the fix runs about 300 bucks thus the previous owner never fixed it. so its the i dont even remember the exact name but i believe he said the master key sensor you know the one that makes the dingy noise when u leave the key in the ingnition. mine has gotten so bad the the ding noise hapens when im driving. but yea thats what they told me.
