in other countries don't they have another name for horsepower when you say 170ps. they are rating the engine preformance i know i have seen that but i can't remember what it stands for at this moment.

Us americans dont have to worry about that cause we do all our calculations w/ hp @ ft-lbs... :flipa:

possibly, but Pa is generally used for Pascal, and that is a unit of pressure, not power. I am an engineering Major and i have never seen "ps" used as an abbrv. for a unit.

I thought ps meant "post script" like:

ps- don't forget there is a test tomarrow.

It might be a funky CGS system measurement, they have alot of crazy-assed units. Never know though with these metric boys...

bhp - brake horsepower (flywheel hp)
ps - power steering
tb - throttle body
i/h/e - intake/header/exhaust
wot - wide open throttle
pb - power brakes
abs - antilock brake system
lsd - limited slip differential
eg - 5th gen civic
ek - 6th gen civic
jdm - japanese domestic market
usdm - united states domestic market

hope that helps a bit

ps is used in Japan as a measurement similar to hp

its that similar that up to about 100 theyre the same

I think ps is slightly higher than hp
ie 170ps is about 167hp or somthing like that.

It dont really matter, I just take them as the same.

Im sure someone will sort it out more accurately

catback is an exhaust system that runs from you catalytic converter back to the tip. axleback exhausts run from about the rear axle back.

GOBS... i have no clue
