#$!@$# H1 Halogens!!

About 3 months ago i purchased some after market H1 (super whites) in hope that i would get that "blue" or "white" headlight beam. In result i get a really light yellow beam...........:(

So yesterday i bought a different type. Nokya. Put them on and its the same damn yellow beam!!:mad: Not only that, but one of them blew this morning and spread glass all inside my headlight!:mad: :mad:

What tha hell does one gotta do to find some good quality H1s? Im smart enought to know not to touch em or get moisture on em, they are just plain ass cheap.......

Anyone know good H1s that have that "Blue, White" beam to em?

I switchedboth my low and high beams out, and it still had a yellow color to it. I bought some piaa blue lights to replace the parking lights(the little bulb) in the head lioght assembly. On your other problem my h1 bulbs are doing the same thing every three months or so the burn out.

If you actually spend the money for some quality bulbs, and don't touch them they will last you. I had the PIAA platinum's for a year till i sold the car, and never had a problem, and they weren't just blue, they were multicolor like the HID beams.

The problem is I wnt PIAA's but whenI go to their website it shows that they have no H1 bulbs. Does anyone know why or am I just not looking good enough?

i dont know if the bulbs for the 5th gens are much different then the 4ths but i got plain old eurolite hyper whites and they have a nice blue tint to them. they've been in for over a year now with no problems whatsoever... I was just real careful not to touch them.

Try Koitos for H1s...they last quite a while (at least a year or more), and are fairly cheap.

The JDM foglights for 5th gens use Koitos, so their reputation is good enough that Honda uses their bulbs.

I got the Raybrig H-1 superwhites... They rock! Ive had them for over a year so far... If you do touch the bulb elements during installation (or let anything touch them that leaves any type of oil/grease on them) you need to clean the bulbelement with rubbing alcohol and then reinstall...

Any oil on an halogen element will cause the bulb to prematurely fail and possibly explode when powered.....

PLUS the raybrigs were $50 a pair! PIAA SUperwhites were near $100!

I have had good luck with Hella H4 bulbs in E-Code lenses, both in my Jeep and presently on my 89 Prelude.

Presently using Hella 100w/80w, but I think I will soon try their 60/55 Xenon bulbs in the Lude, as the OEM wiring is on the small side for my likes.

I have run 130/90 halogen briefly :sun: , and had real good service life out of IPF magic-J bulbs. (these have a 'blue' tint, and a luminescent ring at the base of the bulb...pricy at $60/pr) The high-watt bulbs like lots of juice, and I upgraded the lamp harness on my Jeep to 10 ga with seperate relays for the hi & lows, triggered off the OEM lamp plug. IPF sells an upgrade harness for like $100 USD.

I get my Hella stuff from Ken at Susquehanna MotorSports in PA and IPF from Rocky Road Outfitters in CO.

i would avoid using nokyas, they're shit. i've had catz headlights and can't say anything else, perhaps the exception of piaa, compares.

hehehhehe I used to sells nokya's, they are shit, but cheap, I have a pair of 9007 sitting in front of me I need to get rid of. Biggest complaint was that the burn out very quickly, which is better than exploding. Come to think of it though, I have had nokya's in my truck for about 8 months, I must be pretty lucky. BTW what type of bulb does a 2000 prelude take??
