they are two types of transmissions. hydro link and cable link. i think they were different for 5th and 6th gne civics

One has a cable and one doesnt. The 88-91 CRX and the 90-93 Acura Integra are cable. The 92+ Civics and 94+ Integra's are hydraulic.

hmm i would think hydro trannies help with the amount of pressure needed to pressed down the clutch and release it... this is y guess hahahah

A hydro trannies linkage is a hydrolic rod that goes directly to the shifter for quicker response, smoother shifting, and a more solid feel. A cable tranny has a cable linkage that goes to the shifter. So it needs adjusting and as the cable loosens, the shifting is effected. The cable tranny doe snot have that direct feel to the engine like a hydro tranny does. The hydro tranny is also easier on the leg to use (on most cars, on Hondas there is really not that much difference). But the differences are really just a matter of preference. Some people bitch about cable trannies. But personally, I drove my friends CRX Hybrid and I did'nt notice a huge difference. But the hydro trannies are more maintanance free from what I have heard.
