Trying to remove the starter motor from a 1999 2.4 twin cam malibu. Does anyone have step by step directions and locations or pics I can use?
I'm not a moron but it's not my car and I don't want to f it up.

even just the location would help. Where is it and how do I get at it?

I usually invest in a Haynes manual as soon as one is available for my car,. For that 2.4 I believe it is the same engine as the Pontiac Grand Am. Send an email to [email protected] and he might be able to tell you where it is. I have a 3.1 in my Malibu and I do not recall ever replacing it. But I agree you don't want to F someone else's car up - so until someone else responds to your post - invest in a Haynes or Chilton.

If you don't what a starter looks like should you really be working on the car.

I am trying to remember but i think it is on the front driver side of the motor. Looks like mine will be coming out soon too. It likes to grind on a cold morning start up. Ehh its under warranty.
