I have a different motor in my car because the old one died and I don't know what Motor was placed inside. All I know is that it is one of those crate engines. So could someone please help me in trying to figure out what motor this is. I'm not trying to make this a street racer. I just need a car to run to get my kids around.

Where do I find it on the engine?
The number I found on the engine reads like this
B108050442
Does that tell me what motors it is?
Because I have no clue. I'm just trying to find a replacement exhaust manifold because this one is cracked. And its failing emissions

Plate right where the transmission meets the block, on the front of the motor. That hole above the plate in the pic, should have a black rubber thing sticking out of it.

If it just says D15b and not something like D15B7, then it's a JDM D15b VTEC. It's very similar to the '92-'95 Si/EX motor (the D16Z6), but it's a 1.5L instead of a 1.6L. However it has 130hp compared to the US Si and EX motor with it's 125hp. Most replacement parts for your motor (specifically the exhaust manifold you need) are the same as the D16Z6. So any header from a Civic SOHC vtec or '92-'95 Si or EX will work. Here's a site with some background info on this motor: http://asia.vtec.net/article/d15b/
Another thing to be slightly concerned with is that part of the problem with not passing emissions is that it's a Japanese motor. They don't have as strick emission laws over there as we do here. But honestly I don't how much the motor would really effect emissions, since it's not a big motor. Like if it was a JDM GS-R or Type R then I'd say be worried, but with that specific motor I'm not really sure it'd be that big of a deal. Hopefully someone else will have some more info on the emissions thing.

People over at SOHCHonda.com advise that you use the P28 instead of the P08 ECU if you have the D15B to pass emissions there. Since I don't live in the US, I use (or planning to use anyway) the P08 ECU for it.
