96 TSi and 1g intake manifold

I bought a 96 TSi and the guy gave me a 1g intake manifold and throttle body with it. Are there any reasons to switch? Pros and cons? Thanks. I am kind of new to all this stuff. It has been about 9 years since my last DSM. Things are a little diff now.

The 1g TB and intake mani flow better than the 2g ones, so yes there is a gain to be had from that swap. However, I'm pretty sure you'll need to port match your 2g head with the 1g intake mani for it to be effective.
