I recently acquired an 84 6000 LE from a co-worker for $200.
It has a 2.8L V6 which runs fine but the carb needs tuned. Does anybody know how for me to do this??

Take it to a competent repair shop. That carb is an electronically controlled type, and needs the attention of a qualified technician. Unlike older cars, the tail end (mid to late '80s) of the carbureted cars are fairly complex to repair. Considering how much you paid for the car, you should be able to handle paying to repair it. L-bodies are pretty good cars, BTW.

The car cost me all of $200 and has 4 new tires. I think I got an extremely good deal on it. As for taking it to a shop..... I am extremely tight on cash since I was recently layed off from work.

The alternative is to get the factory service manual, and rebuild the carb yourself, following the instructions and specs provided there. Pontiac should be able to clue you onto a service manual.
Highly recommend NAPA or Borg Warner carb kit. The cheapie kits seldom do the job. If it has a fiber float, replace it! And don't forget the new fuel filter!

Thanks for the tips. I recently noticed the fuel pump was leaking and replaced it. Not only was it leaking but the spring on it was broken into 6 pieces.
