Is anybody with a suspension lift running front sway bar extensions? Any impressions, opinions?

I am. After installing the 3" AC lift the front swaybar was aiming downward at a bad angle. So I went to the local autozone and picked up some longer extensions. Here is a pic......http://www.tnac.homestead.com/files/new4.jpg
Everything is going fine and im happy with it. Before installing the longer extensions the fron sway bar was virtually impossible to more. Now it has more the stock "feel" to it.

Do you have a part number, or description that I can tell them to get those. How long are they, size, etc.
I guess I can always take the part there, but any additional info will help.

I dont have the part number sorry. They were longer than I liked but that is nothing a little cutting couldnt fix. I did cut the middle sleeve down about an inch, and it is still about a half inch longer than the stock sleeve. That was all I needed to fix the problem. If you would like some better pics or closer pics let me know.

of making some of these up right now. I went to Lowes (Home Depot works too) and bought some 3/8" bolts 5 1/2" and 6" long as well as bulk 3/8" i.d. steel sleeve that I can cut to size.
The 6" bolts will likely be the ones for lifted trucks and the 5 1/2" will be for trucks with cranked torsion bars.
I also got some 1/2" wingnuts that I'm welding 3/8" nuts to. That way I can remove and re-connect without tools.

Goto www.Energysuspension.com and look for sway bar bushings in the cataloge.
I'd give the direct link but their having server problems right now.
They sell sets of sway bar endlinks in 3/8" and 1/2" diameter and you just choose how long you want the sleve in the middle, I think the range is from 1" (stock Xterra) to 3" in half inch increments. Plus you get new urethane bushings to go with it.
All for under $20.
Plus they are a major bushing supplier so most 4WD shops can special order them if you give them a part number.
I just ordered me a set of stock length ones and got some 3/8" knobs from Lowes to make my Quick Disconects.
The cost was cheap and they're high quality parts.

that Energy Suspension carried these. The only reason I'm building mine is I already have all the bushings from my lift kit, so I just needed the bolt and bushing and that was easy enough to take care of for about $4. ;)
Besides, I like building $hit. :sun:

update this with a picture of my quick disconnects I made that include longer spacers to level out the sway bar angle.
