1996 Cutlass Supreme

I am looking at buying a 1996 Cutlas Supreme. It's a sharp car. But It has a 156,000 miles on it. Should I be Expecting problems soon? If so, what kind?
Also, when I press on the gas it makes a noise like a bad muffler but not loud, just when you are accelerating. Any idea what that couls be?
