Clutch Help Question

I'm not sure if this a clutch problem or slave cylinder....Truck was running perfect until 2 days ago, now makes a grinding noise when you try to put it in reverse....other gears ok but harder to shift than normal and the clutch pedal seems to have about 1/2 it's normal movement..

Your Hydraulic Clutch needs to bled. To bleed the hydraulic clutch look under your hood to find the hose comming from the hydraulic resaviour or however its spelled. (where you put the brake fluid in for your clutch) follow the line to where it goes. it will then go from another spot to the top of your transmission. the bleeder valve is directly to the side of that line. they should have a little plastic thing covering it. it takes a 10mm socket/wrench to open. The fun part is getting to it. I had my uncle use a grinder on my floor board cutting a small flap but my truck cost me 100.00 so i didnt mind. if its a nice truck you may want to ask the easiest way to get to it. When you get to it here is what i did. I put a 10mm wrench on it. then added a small piece of hose (kinda like fish tank tube) strung it outside to where i had access to it and the clutch. Put your thumb over the end of it and pump the clutch for a few minutes, then hold the clutch to the floor. Release your thumb off the end of the tube (keep the clutch to the floor so it dont pull in air) then put your thumb back on the hose, release the clutch. Repeat as many times as needed (or until no air bubbles are seen in the hose.) The odd thing about my truck though is i changed the clutch and could not get the hydraulic line back on the transmission so i used a small piece of High Pressure fuel line. Then put hose clamps on it and clamped it off (Hydraulic Line to High Pressure Fuel Line to Hydraulic Nozzle on transmission) and the fuel line explodes after about a month or two. but i replace it and just pump it with the resevoir open (where you pour the brake fluid) and the bubbles came out of there. it took me awhile longer but you may want to try opening that, pump the clutch a few times until you get a stiff clutch BUT KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE FLUID LEVEL it drops pretty quick! good luck i hope i helped feel free to email me or add me on msn if needed [email protected]

My brother in law said its a possibility that its the throw-out bearring.
Auto zone has a clutch kit for like 100+ $ with a lifetime warranty (I traded a computer for my clutch kit to a autozone worker) might wanna talk to em. good luck
