04' GTO vs. 05'Mustang

straight line performance wise..Their pretty much equivalent(5.2s for both).....But i would go with the Mustang because its cheaper and its lighter and...Pontiac in my opinion did a half ass job in reviving the Goat and even the new 05's cant compete with the Stangs....Sure thier faster by .3s but the Mustang is more affordable and with the money left over you can blow the GTO's away

if your going to *blow away* a 6.0,with a 4.6,you have no choice but to spend some money.Ford made a mistake when they put a 4.6 in it.Just wait till some of the 05 GTO's get modded out.The 4.6 in the mustang isnt going to stand a chance.Im not hatin on the new tangs,just stating fact.

the new mustang(in my opinion) has an ugly interior,and exterior.I know its an opinion thing,but i think they are ugly and clumsy .

First off I love all the styling of the new mustang. And being a mustang owner, I am somewhat biased. But I actually like the new GTO. So my comparison isnt that off.

However for strait out power for price, the mustang blows it away. Yes the GTO is fast, and hell the ones that get modded will be killers, but there is already a difference in price in the thousands, and thats stock. Take the price of a GTO and bolt ons, and you could use that to build a Mustang that would be faster. I almost gaurentee(sp?) it.

As much as I love my car's v8, and since we are talking v8 vs. v8 here, I can state my opinions. As much as I really am a "No replacement for displacement" kinda guy, I really think im starting to find there is a replacement. Hmm...lets call it "technology." Smaller engines are putting out alot more then they used to, we have some bavarians pushing 300+hp with a v6. So altough in my eyes, when it comes to engines bigger is better, you shouldnt say "a 4.6 doesnt compare to a 6.0" just based on size.

So you come to a Mustang forum to post about a GTO just barely geating a Mustang. Yeah ok, and then you talk crap about the 4.6, and say the new LS2 6.0 is better. (granted it's a nice motor, and I do like it.) It's kinda sad that the Mustang with a smaller motor was able to hang very well with the all mighty LS2. And saying wait till the 05 GTO is modded and the Mustang won't stand a chance. What, you think that people won't mod the new mustangs, :screwy:

I have said it before and I'll say it again. The new GTO is a nice car and what it puts out is very respectiable, no doubt. But to call it a GTO is just bull. All that Pontiac did was re-name an already in production Aussie car in hope to boast some sales./ If it had a different name, I would like the car so much better.

Now if your just going to come here to bash looking for ways to stir up trouble, then you can consider yourself not welcome here.
