yea the sell them on crutchfield incase you want to buy
but why would you want to seal off the speakers? its going to change the sound a bit
my old 6x9 pioneers had pretty decent bass when it wasn't sealed up

i could be wrong but i think it would sound better to have the sound sealed from going in the trunk and coming out inside the car only.

not really, those rear deck speakers are designed to have a large area behind it like a trunk. it will change their sound

i dont think it would be worth the time/ money. 6x8s do not even produce a great amount of bass. you would think that theyre close enough to 6x9s to kick close to them.. but i dont know what it is.. i have 4 6x8s (2 are pioneer)in my explorer and i have almost no low range because they cant handle much bass. actually i ahve to keep the bass down in my HU.
would you ever consider getting a subwoofer rather than trying get more bass from your 6x8s?

one TRUE 8" sub in a small box will produce more bass than 4 free air 6X9's could even dream of

do single sub setups really good? how much might that cost?

yea, adding another sub (and powering it with the same power as the first) will only net you a 3 dB gain (or is it 6 dB ... I always mess this one up)

i think that its +3 db for doubling displacement, +3 for doubling power, and + 3 more for doubling box volume/port area.. either way.. dont worry abotu this.. basically to answer your question yes single sub setups sound awesome and most people in this forum will reccommend a single sub setup. what would you be willing to spend on a sub though? because after an amp and box i think the cheapest you could get away with is like $2-300 (especially since youll probably want an SQ sub and these tend to be a little more expensive).
are you willing to spend this much, or more? because the more youre willing to spend the better the system youll get.
