I did a search for this but didn't come up with a thread about what people did for a living just people asking within threads...
I was just kinda wondering what everyone does for a living and how do you like it???
For me I'm currently working at Menards and I like it a lot. Lots of heavy lifting and I get paid for it.

High School student, but i also work at Vilandre's Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. I run parts, keep the shop organized, help people when someone needs two people on a certain job, and do a little metal work (ductwork and plenum fabrication). In the summers I work construction and this summer i was working 50hr a week at Vilandres doing new home installs (furnace and all the fixin's). Fun and very flexible. They give me a list to do and a key and as long as its done or kinda done, theyre happy.

Good luck with the FBI gig. I hope you have a spotless record and have never, ever done drugs. Their background investigations are extreme.

A friend of mine got recruited by the CIA, and for 2 months, there was a spook investigating his background, talking to all of his friends/enemies, etc... Very thorough.

No doubt! I've been through it all already. You'd be surprised who they end up talking to too. Everyone has skeletons in their closet and I was a total wreck while they were doing their investigation on me. Its not the CIA who does the investigating, its a company called OPM.

In the mean time, i'm a part time oil change/tire change/ tuneup bitch at a local garage. Much better than autozone because i dont have to deal with people, and at this rate, with all the workout i'm getting, i'll be able to overpower my girlfriend in a wrestling match in about... 5 months!

Absolutely love it. And because I'm also working full time, the practical application is really useful. Highly recommended.
Hoping to turn it into a degree at some stage.

Did he go to work for the CIA? They recruited my son too, but it just so happened that a friend of mine's daughter had just been killed, and she worked for them. So my son declined. They had checked him out BEFORE recruiting him, because they knew everything about him, right down to who his teamates were on the football team.

Well, in all honesty, your the one providing them the information. Simple things like where you lived your entire life (which is a pain in the ass if you moved numerous times cause you have to remember exacts date when you left from one place and moved to another), where you went school, where you have been employed, list a certain number of people for a reference and many other simple questions. Your basically giving them all the information about you. Your life story broken down in facts, dates and events.
When all the paper work is done the investigators begin the investigation by visiting your home town, your friends, your family, your school and your past employers. If any information you gave doesn't add up to information those people provide then the investigators dig deeper into your past. If the information does match up to what you have provided then they see no reason to dig any deeper. What they're looking for is someone they can trust explicitly.

Then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. My driving record was horrible and I had a two arrests but both were minor. Just be upfront with them.

I was just kinda wondering what everyone does for a living and how do you like it???
Database programmer in a city hospital, plenty of VB coding in MS application. I like it. Once the progam is completed I just sit back and let it do its thing. Which leaves me 75 % of the time surfing the net and being on AF. Pay is good too. Don't have the usual 9-5 hours. Whatever hour I come in I leave 7 hours later (usually). At times I work from home also which is cool. Currently trying to study for the MOP (Microsoft Office Specialist) exams.
