PVC question

so i pulled out my pvc valve today and it had a tiny bit of oil on it.. and i mean tiny, is that a bad thing?
and also i followed the pvc line to where it connects and it looks like a valve and it has on and off writen on it.. can someone tell me what that is?

" Positive Crankcase Ventilation" or PCV. Your pcv valve is connected to your main vac line. Your pcv valve re circulates unburnt gasses back through the engine. its normal to have some oil on your pcv valve dude. Normal life of a pcv is about 35K. Theres a spring inside the valve that weakens and breaks. thats when its time to replace it. YOu cant really tell if the spring is broke or weakened so just replace it every 30k or 2 years or so. Another thing you might wanna pull out if your are past 36K is your fuel filter. Hope that helps ya dude.

Yeah the on off thing isnt making any sense to me either. its probably written on the vacume lines or something. Or just telling you that the vacume hose is suppose to be taken of at that point. not sure really. n thank for the props on the explination. i noticed you know your stuff on alot of the areas im not farmiliar with.

Or someone installed an aftermarket valve to cut it off duing racing or something.
