I have just bought a 98 aurora with 122,000 km , I replaced the spark plugs and wires but it still stalls out when I'm stopped at red lights.
Had my mechanic check it out but he couldn't find and problems . Anyone have any suggestions. Other than this problem I love everything else about the car.

Thanks

There are other posts related to this problem already written about but here it is for you. Hey Whiggins I had the same problem while at lights and also idling with my Aurora running sitting inside the car. It would happen like twice a day. I had mechanics check it out, they could not find the problem after changing multiple parts and still the problem was there. When I had the ONE CAMSHAFT SENSOR and 2 CRANKSHAFT SENSORS, the problem went away thanks to another person helping out with the great advice in this forum. Check out GM parts wholesale online you could get the parts almost 50% less than the dealership or mechanics. Bring all three sensors to your mechanic have it changed. Or you could try to have them replicate the shutting off problem which is very hard to diagnose....hope this helps you...

try a fuel pressure regulator first and then maybey a fuel filter.....try easy and cheap stuff first

My Tahoe wouldn't idle at all. It turned out that some corrosion on the battery terminal was preventing proper contact. Replaced the battery and contact.. . no problems now.

Yeah, mine did the same thing and when I took it in the service manager got it right the first time, fuel pump preasre regulator. I went ahead and installed myself for $67 and it immediatley cured the stalling as well as my slow starting problem. It's a 10 minute job and hardly any tools are required.
