trying to help a friend of a friend

i have a freind of a friend with a 92 sentra that he just replaced the motor in and now has a hard start, no power, rough idle problem... i havent seen the car yet but he says no check engine light, full of coolant and it doesnt seem like its missing..... any suggestions on where to start looking???

92 nissan sentra 1.6 ga16de motor 5-sp manual tranny... for got to add that in case it makes a difference...
