clunk in the calipers

My civic 01 coope has been cluncking in the wheel area when I turn and break. The dealership states this is normal, something about there being room in between the caliper and the break pad. I think the dealership is hiding something, they put a pad in between the two to stop the clunk and it works but its a easy fix and falls out in a short time. So the clunk returns and they keep doing the same fix. The coope has never been hit and has no racing abuse, yet. So if anyone knows anything about this type of clunk let me know. Sorry for the long thread.

It could be...The brakes make a click. The *POP* that you hear is the steering bearings. Its an extremely common problem that warranty takes care of by replacing the upper mount assembly or the entire strut. Ask about this issue possibly this could be it...

Normal. Due to the different in variation of each pad some cars make the noise and some won't. You may go through a set of pads and hear it and as soon as you replace it BAM there it is. There isn't any fix for it.
