water spots

what can I use to remove waterspot off my windshield? I tried a lot of stuff and nothing seems to work. Does anyone know.

vinger, put some on a rag let it sit on the spots for a few min then wipe off.

then clean the glass like normal.

Rewash your ride and DRY IT OFF

Believe it or not I've heard Coke-a-Cola on the windshield helps that but, wash it off right after you splash it on.

Razor Blade your Window, then Windex it, then wash it. That should get rid of any spots or anything you have on there... :D

regular window cleaner and fine steel wool. Takes the bugs off real easy also.

I've also heard of the Coke trick. I've never tried it, but I think will soon b/c I got the kinda..greasy lookin film on my windshield that wont go away!

Has anyone else noticed the "windshield cleaning" issue is greater than normal on new Silverados? I can't figure it out - I've had to work harder to clean my new 2004 Silverado windshield than I ever did with any other vehicle. Its like as if there is some kind of exterior coating on the windshield. All the old "tried-and-trues" didn't seem to work - newspapers, vinegar, glass cleaners etc.. Then I tried rubbing alcohol and that worked really well.

Just wondering - the home building industry came out with windows this last year called "stay clean or easy clean" coatings. Crestline and many others now offer it as stardard options on the exterior side. To active it - the window must be washed with a solution to activate the protection. Anybody think this might be something on the 2004 and newer windshields ????

I'm not sure about that, but I am sick of my windshield wipers not working properly, brand new Bosch blades arent cheap, and that stupid film is just not going to do....Its like the wipers cant get all the water off the glass or something.

I actually have a hard time believing it's the glass or the wipers. In past vehicles new wipers have usually made all the difference.

I carpool with a couple of guys at work and they have the same problem on their vehicles. I think that there is just more junk on the road surfaces these days and it's ending up on our windshields. Maybe it's time to devise some sort of new washer fluid that cleans windows better...

RainX window cleaner does OK. It's the cleaner not regular RainX. It's abrasive enough that it has a label saying to only use it as a last resort.
