hey guys. so far i got 2 12's right and i'm running an 8-gage power setup all from my fully-stock battery. now what i want to do is take out my stock-cd player and my stock-tape deck and replace it with an in dash dvd deck and an in-dash lcd screen. if i was to do that, would my battery take a huge hit, or will it be unnoticeable

i would think that your car should be able to handle that, but if it can't you'll want to look at getting a higher amprage alternator not a new battery. your battery just stores the power your alternator determines how much of a draw your vehicle can handle.

Unless your running an outrageous amount of power to those subs, like 1500 watts RMS, you should be fine.

Yeah I don't believe a head unit whether it be a cd or dvd deck takes a whole lot of power. And considering you are running an 8 guage to your sub amp, you probably aren't pushing any serious power. I would say you won't even notice the slightest difference, and neither will your battery, you're fine.

Your car will be fine. I have a friend with two 15 Audiobahn immortal series subs, each on it's own 6 guage power cable from two seperate 2500 Watt RMS amps with a 10 farret cap on each. It is loud. If this car (Alero) can handle it w/ only a beefed up alternator, then you car will be fine.
