Takin apart my floating rotors and i'm havin trouble with separating the lower control arm from the steering knuckle balljoint. my problem is that i have a two-jaw puller but its alittle to big. I've put washers to space it out but i cant get it centered. I was wondering what i could use to space it better. my only idea is to take apart my skateboard and use the rubber spacers but before i do this can someone give my a few ideas so i don't have to destroy my board? I need to get this done tonight so i can get the rotors pressed in the morning. Also, why do cars have floating rotors? just to make shit harder than it has to be?
Any help would be great!

Don't have an pickle fork do you? That would be a better tool to use but if you don't have one then I would try to put the 17mm socket I think it is (what ever fits the bolt on the lower balljoint). Put this socket on the bolt, make sure the bolt is run up until the end of the threads are even with the bottom of the bolt. Then see if the puller will reach it. If not the get the shortest extention you can find and see if it will fit in there. If not then take the socket off and try a deep well socket if you have one.

Goto your local auto zone or parts store pick up a cheap 4$ pickle fork and you'll need a hammer. Honestly its much easier than anything else and 4$ is well worth the time and hassle you will save.
