I'm planning on gettin an intake and throttle body spacer here soon but i just wanted to ask some of you who have these things it is worth the money.(intake$240 spacer$105) a buddy of mine put a new K&N intake on his ford bronco and said he could notice a difference right away but i have also heard that they're a both a waste.

I have a truck about exactly like your 97 with about the same miles. I have the poweraid spacer and airaid cold air intake. the spacer was $100 and the intake was 155 compared to k&n $275 intake. the price is why i went with the airaid, it was guaranteed for life so I thought it would be just as good. Anyway, about power...not a whole lot but it is noticeable in lower gears(2nd and 3rd) when accelerating from about 1800 rpms to about 3000. I would always recommend improved air intake as well as free flowing exhaust.
