All right i'll be on this one on my own. I got a mugen cold air intake for my non-turbo 4 cylinder eclipse and i needed some information on installing it. I do not want to get it done professionally because i enjoy working on my car. I dont want to screw it up so if anyone has any info on this please give me some feedback

Whe you say non-turbo eclipse, that usually refers to eclipses 1st-2nd gen, I am not aware of anyone that list's out eclipse's as non-turbo, but I have been proven wrong before. Assuming you have the correct intake there are a few steps you have to take to get the old intake off. First look down at the old intake and firstdisconnect the neg battery terminal. Trust me on this one! Now remove the piece of plastic near the hood that "scoops" the air into the intake. Now unblot the main airbox. There is one bolt that is trick to get to. Luckly I worked at a shop so I could just jack up the car, pull off the tire ad unbolt this one hidden bolt. You have to go up through under your wheel weld to get to it. Assuming your a smart guy you should be able to find it. After this has been accomplished Now remove the MAF (its a big black round thing with a wire coming out, this is where the neg battery comes in place. Im sure some are going to argue with me on this one, but its better to be safe than sorry. I personally fried my MAF by not disconecting the battery) Be sure to unclamp the cable that connect's to it. At first it might be snug, but it will come off. Set the MAF off to the side and continue to unhook everything up to the throttle body. Now its time to install your CAI (Cold Air Intake). Find the tube that is meant to go down... attach the air filter to it and bolt this on in first. Your kit should of came with an adapter plate for your MAF. Go ahead and attach this. The MAF should go on next, and work back from there. After you have gotten everything in plave make sure that it is all snug (not too tight otherwise you might rip some of the fittings due to vibration, as well as making sure that the new intake is not resting on anything metal...IT WILL rub a hole in it and you'll have to wrap it in duck tape like me (I also have a 1" throttle body spacer that moved my whole intake into my battery hold down bolt, that then pushed it into the side of my engine block). Re-connect the MAF, connect the battery, turn the key to accesory, and put the security key back into your radio and start it. It will sound SWEEEEEEEEET! Go ahead and rev it to hear it and feel you throttle response. Now go race a riced civic and kick his ass!

find a friend that has done this before and have them help you, my friend and I did it and it was my first time, we didn't look at the instructions until we needed to find out where the bracket went and after i read over the instructions it was exactly what we did....

if you are talking about a 3G, then all you have to do is pop the hood and study it for a few mins. look at the pipes that you have and where they need to go. it will take a little while b/c some of the screw are hard to get to. i also agree with Elchicoloco86....get a friend to watch over you to make sure you're doing it right

also keep in mind that it is much easier to work with a part not bolted to your car, so if you can remove the entire bit THEN take it apart from there/ put it together, its much easier
