I have had my 2001 Stratus for a year and love it- a problem that just came up is that it is over heating when it idles for a while. When I go again, the temperature goes down. Any ideas what is wrong? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I just purchased a 2001 R/t and it had a problem with heat cooling down when at idle. Some on this forum had the same issue took it to the dealer and they replaced the Tstat. The used dealer I purchase from said this model if known for air bubbles because the radiator sits low. I took it back and they purged the air and it works like new. You might try that before you change the stat or worse. Good Luck.

Make sure that your cooling fan is coming on. Went you are driving your pulling air across the radiator and that is what is cooling your temperature down. Good Luck.
