ok i have a 1991 chevy S10 and i got it for 100 bucks. was in rough shape but i gave it 50 bucks and tlc and its runnin damn good for 230,000 miles lol. anyway its doin pretty good now except for the fact im haveing starting probs. it used to start but when i took it for its first decent drive since ive had it i started it up and went to town to get gas for it and it wouldnt start back up at gas station. so basically it will sometimes start but wont when its warmed up. turns over slow but if i give her a little push and let off the clutch to put it in gear it starts right up. ive heard new battery and new starter. but i dont know which one it would b for the fact it turned over very slow like battery was dead but it wasnt and with a little push start it starts right up so if the battery was dead it prob woulndnt start that easy. anyway if anyone knows wut the prob might b if its just the starter or wut then let me know. thnx

Test Your Battery. Check All Your Battery Cables For Corrosion Or Breakage. If You Want You Can Bring Your Battery And Starter Into Pepboys, Autozone, Etc And They Will Test Them For Free. Battery Will Run You ~40.00-50.00 And The Starter Will Run You ~30.00-40.00 With Core Exchange. Make Sure You Check Your Cables First. They Could Be Broken Internally Where You Are Unable To See. Do A Volt Drop Test On The Cables With A Known Good Battery.

test the battery, this is a no brainer.

you might also want to go to a auto place like auto zone or andvance auto parts and get your alternator tested because i had the same problem with my 91 4.3L chevy S10 that you just described so i took my alternator to auto zone and they said the alternator was bad so i got a new one and that fixed the problem.
