Rough idle/starts bad

I have a 1999 Passat. When I start the car it barley starts. Then I have to let it idle (very rough) before I can start driving it. When I first start driving it It will bog down even if I have it at full throttle. It sits there for like 3 seconds or so then it takes off and runs fine until I come to a stop again. Then the same thing happens. After I have driven it for awhile it doesn't do this anymore. The check engine light comes on every now and then. I just had the turbo and the timming belt changed on it. Could this problem be from the turbo going out and damaging the O2 sensors? Any other ideas?

You need to have the codes read. It might be best to clear them, restart the engine & check them again.

Sounds like a Throttle body. or MAF sensor. More likely a throttle body.
