I also posted in the sticky about unknown problems, but just in case someone that could possibly help didn't check in there, perhaps they'd see it here... heh.
Here's the problem: I have a Z24 LS 2002 Cavalier and my car suddenly won't start! It has been taking slightly longer than normal to start lately, I chalked it up to getting pretty cold outside. But I drove it home from a restaurant one night and 7 hours later it just wouldn't start. I turn the key and it tries and tries but just doesn't turn over. My battery's doing alright, I hear the fuel pump, so I was thinking of checking the spark plugs, but I can't find them! :dunno: Can someone give me some direction, please? Or ideas? It'd be so greatly appreciated! This car is my baby and it's so frustrating not being able to figure out what's wrong with her!
Plus it stinks bummin' rides. :( No public transport in this town. Any ideas, any whatsoever, would be helpful. Thanks!!!

Sorry if this doesn't help.

Wow, I hadn't heard about the recall... how do I find out about it? That'd be an answer... hmmmm....
Thanks for telling me where the plugs are, I'll take a look when it gets light again!

Well since it's a recall part. If you take it to your nearest GM dealer they'll take care of the thing ASAP. That's what I did with mine. She's fine now and now I won't burn up or fry anything... (we're hoping)
Since it's a chevy recall part they had to do mine for free........ the one thing I don't like about leaving things at the dealer is they always screw with my stuff..... I feel so... so... violated.... so unclean...
but if you can survive that.. well then take it to the dealer and they should do it for free... My car has been without warranty for a while... and they still did it for free. Try that out.
and for the spark plugs? yeah under that shield/cover thingy.... speaking of which... mine is peeling... might as well sand it down and repaint it.... damn cheap engine paint.... I shoulda bought the good stuff.....

But you have a 2001... mine's a 2002 and I'm having trouble finding any recall info on 2002's. :( Someone help? A website? Phone number? Anything? Thanks!

like I said wendy. Try going to the closest GM dealer and asking if there are any recalls on your car. they shouldn't have any problem doing that. If not I'd go to GM's website and e-mail them but they may just tell you more of the same..... hope this helps.

With regards to the recall. If you haven't had the ca from new some of the recalls may have been taken care of the only way top check is to take down the last 8 digits of your VIN and get the dealer to check this, if there are any outstading recalls they will replace the part at fault F.O.C up to 120,000 miles approx regardless of age, this is also the case on any older cars out there. You'd be surprised what you can get if you just ask. I know this due to having a friends whife work at a chevy dealer who sorts this stuff for me. The Ignition module is a big problem for quite a few years there is one on 98 and around then 2.2s. My sister had this replaced on her 98 4 door base cav about 10 weeks ago.
